I don’t see any video. What is wrong?

Macromedia Flash Player 8 or above is required to view the video. You can download the latest version of the Flash Player by visting the player download centre. The install is usually quick and easy.

My video keeps stopping and starting again. What do I do?

Internet video is fairly data intensive compared to other file formats such as text and images. The video on this site has been optimized for a 256kpbs broadband connection. If your connection is slower than this, or not running at full capacity then the video may not load as fast as required to play seamlessly.

To watch the video from start to finish without stops, simply click on the video to pause it, wait for the grey “loading” bar on the video progress bar to reach close to the end, and then click the video again to play.

You can control where the video starts from by clicking on the video progress bar.

The video is really, really slow to load. How long will it take to download?

Most of the videos on this site are about 3 or 4 minutes long. If you are on a dial-up (eg. 56kpbs modem) connection, it may take over 20 minutes to download each video, so be prepared for a wait.

If you are on a page where there is more than one video and start to play a second video before the first one has fully loaded, it may take longer than usual to download as both videos are loading at the same time.

If a video is taking a while to load, simply click on the video to pause it, wait for the grey “loading” bar to reach close to the end, and then click the video again to play.

You can control where the video starts from by clicking on the video progress bar.

If you decide not to wait for the video, then your normal navigation of the site will not be affected.

Videos will not start to play unless you click them.
